The two-minute litter pick on Roborough Down last Saturday (April 22) got enough volunteers giving enough time – more than two minutes in most cases – to take 50 bags of litter off the moor and the park authority has organised another one at Shipley Bridge, South Brent, for Sunday May 14.

The idea is borrowed from the 2-minute Beach Clean launched by Bude resident Martin Dorey, which has gone global.

Ella Briens, Dartmoor National Park Ranger said today: “Our thanks go to all the volunteers who came along to help. Join us on Sunday 14 May, between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm, at Shipley Bridge. We will be starting at the car park and walking up towards the dam, litter picking as we go. Drop in for two minutes or stay and help for two hours.”
