Five bicycles worth £21,000 were stolen early Sunday from the Rockin Bikes shop at Leg O’Mutton – and found a few hours later in Horrabridge.
The alarm at the shop went off at about 4 am and when the owners got there, they found a basement door ripped out of its frame and five high-end bikes missing.

But by early afternoon, the bikes had been recovered, from a van abandoned on the Manor Estate.
First reports suggest a white Transit van was involved in the burglary. And police got a call from Manor Gardens residents who reported a white Transit abandoned on their lawn. All the missing bicycles were found in the back.
Detective Constable Mike Lugger said today (Monday): “We are appealing to anyone who has seen a long-wheelbased white Ford Transit van with the registration of YL03 AYV.
“The van is believed to have come from out of the Force area and has no registered owners and is uninsured.
“We are asking for information as to the movements of the vehicle and would like to hear from anyone with any information to assist with our ongoing enquiries.”

Rockin Bikes was raided less than two years ago but all the bikes stolen then were recovered thanks to tip-offs – and security at the shop was beefed up.
