Three members of the Horrabridge Rangers Ladies football team are in the Devon squad which will kick off the FA’s South West Counties Women’s Championship with a game against Dorset on Sunday (August 20).

Kick-off is scheduled for 2pm at Coach Road, Newton Abbot.

The selection of three players is a triumph for the new Horrabridge team, formed around a group who used to play at Tavistock but found themselves needing a new manager and home.

Goalie Zoe Stock, of Tavistock, is one of the chosen ones. Defender Carleigh Boyce, of Milton Combe, and striker Rebecca Gordon, of Yelverton, are the other two in the Devon list of 16 – mainly from bigger clubs like Newton Abbot’s Buckland Athletic, Ilfracombe, Bideford, Axminster and Feniton, near Honiton.
