BLINGY BRAS, LAUGHS & TEARS ON TOUR ROUND YER

The Tavonians Theatre Company, veterans of the local am-dram scene, with a history going back to 1935, are in final rehearsals for a tour of their latest production, taking in Meavy and Bere Alston as well as two Tavistock dates.

The play is Cheshire Cats, a comedy by Gail Young about women walking to raise money for breast cancer. When first performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, it was reviewed in The Scotsman as ” a genuinely funny and touching ensemble piece”.

The Tavonians’ publicity says: “In their decorated bras and posh new trainers, the girls are up for the challenge, but when one of the team can’t make it, the substitute 6th member of the team doesn’t exactly meet the physical criteria! At the end of the 13 miles of aching feet, heaving bosoms, friendships and tears, the walkers will have a stitch in their sides, but so too will the audience, from laughing out loud.”

Tickets, at £10, available via www.tavonians.org.uk and local outlets.

Dates and venues in the poster below, with local ticket outlets listed in red. Sterts Studio is near Liskeard, by the way.
