ROADWORKS LATEST – WALKIE ROAD CLOSURE POSTPONED & MORE

The closure of the Horrabridge-Walkhampton road, for drain installations for the new housing by Walkham Meadows, has been postponed.

The closure was due to start yesterday (Monday) and last until March 9, according to the housing association in charge of the building, DCH.

But Devon Highways intervened at the last minute, they said tonight..

The work will now start “sometime in February”, but only after warning signs have been in place for at least seven days, at the Devon authority’s insistence.

New letters of warning are being prepared, for residents and Horrabridge Parish Council.

The local DCH manager said tonight (Tuesday): “Apologies for the confusion.”
