* Dartmoor planners have turned down an application for a certificate of lawfulness for the Magpie Bridge caravan park which would have helped clear the way for development into a retirement community of residential prefabs.
They decided it would be a change of use. But the applicants, Barton Park Homes of Plymouth, are likely to appeal, although they may wait for the outcome of similar arguments elsewhere. Meanwhile, no comment from them.
* People have been asking if the local scouts will run a Christmas postal service for the village, as they have done in past years. Answer is No – the organiser has dropped out and nobody else can take it on just now.
